About EBS
Elizabeth Blackburn Sciences (formerly the Elizabeth Blackburn School of Sciences) is a specialist science school for Year 11 and 12 students. Named after Nobel laureate Elizabeth Blackburn, the school provides an immersive, research-driven science education.
The paper we teach
The EBS entrance exam is set by Edutest for Year 11 and Year 12 entry: Mathematics, Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning and Science Reasoning multiple-choice papers. Shortlisted students are then invited to an individual interview plus written and group tasks at EBS.

EBS tutoring
Our EBS program prepares students for both the Edutest exam and the unique demands of a research-focused science school. We build strong foundations in mathematical reasoning and scientific literacy while developing the analytical writing skills that EBS values. Victorian Selective Entry Exam Prep
Preparation for the Edutest selective-entry exam (Year 10/11 entry) across MHS, Mac.Robertson, Nossal and Suzanne Cory. Covers Maths, Science and written expression, with applied sessions and drop-in support tailored to the Edutest format. We do not prepare for the separate Year 9 ACER test.

Frequently Asked Questions
Both are specialist science schools, but EBS focuses more on research-driven learning and typically accepts Year 11/12 students. JMSS has a broader STEM curriculum with Year 10 entry. Our tutors can help you decide which is the best fit.
Stage one is an Edutest paper: Mathematics, Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning and Science Reasoning. Shortlisted students then do an interview and written and group tasks at EBS. We cover the paper with targeted practice and prepare students for the interview.
We recommend starting at least 3-6 months before the exam. Our structured program builds skills progressively so students are confident on exam day.
